Beyoncé’s Cuba Trip Not the Best Idea; Harry Redknapp Looking Gloomy

Beyoncé under Fire for Cuba Trip

Two Republican representatives in South Florida, whose constituents include many embittered Cuban exiles, have sent a letter to the White House demanding an explanation as to why Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z were recently photographed on a trip to Cuba.

America endures a tense relationship with Cuba and a long-standing embargo means that Americans are prohibited from visiting the island without carefully stipulated permission from the US government – tourism for example is absolutely out of the question.

Yet the pair looked remarkable like a happy tourists as they dined in some of Havana’s finest restaurants and enjoyed some local cigars. Indeed the press in Cuba had a field day, announcing the tourism-cum-political coup of the decade.

Republicans are presumably alleging that since Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are close supporters and indeed friends of the Obama family, there has presumably been some special dispensation given to them to allow their trip.

The pair are said to have taken the short break to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.

QPR Manager Redknapp’s Lowest Ebb

To say it has been a challenging season for Harry Redknapp would be an understatement. And after a series of blunders in this weekend’s game against Wigan, the QPR manager is struggling to stay motivated as Tan Sri Tony Ferdinandes’ club battle relegation.

Rangers saw Bobby Zamora sent off after a dangerous high tackle and then gave away a free quick in the last moments of injury time leaving Wigan to score, drawing the game 1-1.

“The players are low, the same as I am. Very low,” Redknapp admitted after the match.

“We played with 10 men for nearly all the game and deserved to win.”

Zamora’s red card came only twenty minutes into the game when he lunged in boot first at head height, knocking Jordi Gomez to the ground.

“It was a rash challenge from Bobby. He’s sorry, of course he is,” Redknapp said.

“But I don’t quite know where they got four minutes of extra time from – I thought it would be three.”

The club is currently seven points adrift of safety, with just six games left of the season, and were relying on taking three points from fellow-strugglers Wigan.
