New Psy Single Out Soon; Saudi Royal Says Forbes Undervalued Him

Gentleman Style? New Psy Single Due in 10 Days

It has been nearly a year since Gangnam Style views started to snowball online, leading to the clip being the most viewed in history. For South Korean musician Psy, it was the single that changed his life.

And now the follow-up is just around the corner. Called Gentleman, it is due for release in his native South Korea on April 12, followed by a RM8 million public concert that will be beamed around the world the following day.

“The new song is extremely fun and … what I can tell you is the song title is Gentleman“, he said on Monday.

“I can’t tell you about the dance but all Koreans know this dance – but (those in) other countries haven’t seen it.”

Of course, unlike most musicians there’s the added pressure of trying to notch up another billion views on YouTube – so it would help if was at least certain about how the song goes…

“The new song keeps changing, so I continued recording for it even up to this morning. I think that will be the final version, though. It’s a very upbeat song.”

It’ll have to be.

Forbes in Spat with Saudi Tycoon Over “Exaggerated” Wealth

Saudi tycoon Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has come under fire from Forbes after he accused the magazine of understating the size of his fortune.

Prince Alwaleed claims he is worth roughly RM92 billion. Forbes thinks that the figure is closer to RM62 billion, and publically said so in the annual billionaires list, ranking him only the 26th wealthiest man in the world – the shame…

As a result his office issued a statement saying that he and his Kingdom Holding investment group announced they “have ended their long-standing relationship with the Forbes Billionaires List“.

In a particularly catty snub, the Prince said that he would continue to cooperate with the rival billionaires list at Bloomberg, which ranks him 16th in the world.

Now Forbes has hit back.

“For the past few years, former Alwaleed executives have been telling me that the prince, while indeed one of the richest men in the world, systematically exaggerates his net worth by several billion dollars,” the magazine said.

“The value that the prince puts on his holdings at times feels like an alternate reality, including his publicly traded Kingdom Holding, which rises and falls based on factors that, coincidentally, seem more tied to the Forbes Billionaires List than fundamentals.”

Life’s tough at the top.
