The DAP and the Malay Vote

Critics Say That Lim Guan Eng Has Scored An Own Goal.

THE GOVERMENT'S TAKE

The DAP has lost any credibility with the Malay electorate.  This is because of the shabby treatment of Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, who called Lim Guan Eng's offer of a RM 50,000 stipend a bribe.  It is also because the Chinese dynasty that controls the DAP seems to have little interest in free speech.

THE OPPOSITION'S TAKE

The DAP will not miss Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim at all.  We have plenty of ways to show we are not just a Chinese party.  There are other Malay figures we can cultivate.

OUR TAKE

Lim Guan Eng blew it.  His credibility and that of the DAP has suffered with the rakyat.  He so badly mismanaged the situation over Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim that he has done his own party and perhaps Pakatan Rakyat some serious damage here.

The Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ) said it was now clear that a Pakatan Rakyat-led government would not guarantee media free...

A Difficult Chat About Azmin Ali

A Difficult Chat About Azmin Ali

Editor's Note: We all wonder what kind of conversation goes on in the halls of power, among our leaders and their families. What did Nelson Mandela say to Winnie at dinner back in the old days? What does Aung San Suu Kyi say to her closest friends after breakfast? And what about our own Official National Martyr, the De Facto Opposition Leader? What kind of conversation can we imagine he has, with the President of PKR and the Member of Parliament ...
