Tom Cruises Opens Up on Katie Holmes Divorce
Speaking out for the first time since their very public divorce last summer, Tom Cruise has revealed that his split from Katie Holmes came as a complete shock to him.
In a rare sit-down interview with German television network ProSieben, the actor claimed he had no idea that Holmes, with whom he had been married for five years, was secretly planning a divorce.
“I did not expect that,” he said.
“Life is a challenge. To be 50 and have experiences and think you have everything under control and then it hits you – that’s what life is… Life is tragicomic. You need a certain sense of humour.”
The actor has made sure to keep himself busy, filming and promoting a slew of new films in quick succession, while his ex-wife lives in New York with their daughter Suri, now seven years old.

Perhaps it was the taste of the tropical life that they enjoyed recently (if possibly illegally) on Cuba? Whatever the reason, Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z have their sights set on another slice of paradise it would seem.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is said to be spending RM10 million on a small island off North Abaco in the Bahamas as a treat for his wife and their daughter Blue Ivy.
“He’s getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it’s getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue,” explained one source close to the deal.
“A private island means they’ll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security.”
And, like Cuba it’s just a short flight from Miami. But even better – there aren’t any trade embargoes and they don’t need permission from the White House to go!
