Indonesian Police Not Fans;Hints of Mourinho’s Return

Indonesian Police Not Fans of French Flag

Police in Indonesia were left red faced last week after officers released a group of men they had earlier arrested near Ambon.

The men, who were apparently mining for gold illegally, were held not because of their dubious interest in mineral reserves, but because they were seen waving French flags.

Apparently France’s tricolour bears a striking resemblance to that of the outlawed flag of the Republic of Maluku (RMS) separatist movement and when police stumbled across their camp, they promptly arrested them.

“The RMS flag looks exactly like the French flag, but it has an extra green stripe,” a Buru Island police spokesman said.

“The men were kept overnight until police confirmed the flag was indeed the French flag.”

The reason for the flag-waving? The miners were excitedly cheering on the French national football squad as they took on Spain in a World Cup qualifying match.

Drogba Hints at Mourinho’s Return to Chelsea

As the English Premier League draws to a close, rumours are already swirling over who will take over at Chelsea after interim manager Rafael Benitez ends his brief and unhappy tenure this summer.

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba thinks he has a pretty good idea who might take the reins – Jose Mourinho.

“I don’t think he’s got over Chelsea,” the 35-year-old Drogba said of Mourinho.

“They haven’t got over him.”

The Real Madrid coach, who has won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, claimed two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and twice lifted the League Cup during his three years in charge at Chelsea, between 2004 to 2007.

“When he came, he brought success,” Drogba said.

“We won league titles back-to-back with some great football and the only thing he didn’t win was the Champions League. It is unfinished business.”
